Mixed Medley: October 2012 Creative Contest-Christmas

Today's card was made for the DOstamperSTARS Team October 2012 Creative Contest. This is a full view of the front of the card where I used the Merry Christmas and the snowflake stamp from the Mixed Medley stamp set which is a Hostess set in the Holiday Catalog
This is a side view of the card showing the many layers I used in the creation of this Christmas card for the October 2012 Creative Contest.  This is totally one of my own creations which I'm not always able to come up with but when I do I am so excited to share my cards with others.  I truly appreciate all the creative paper crafters in the world but it is really a good feeling to come up with your own idea!  Woo Hoo!
This is a view of the built up section in the center front of the card.

As you can see by this view, I have done some paper weaving on the front of my card.  There is 3/8" between each of the strips where you see the red DSP showing through.  I used the Framelits Apothecary Accents for the Very Vanilla Cardstock on top of the paper weaving.  To get the shape smaller, I first ran it through the Big Shot and then ran it through again cutting off one of the ends of the Framelits piece.  Don't forget to play around with Framelits, etc.  You just never know what you can do with them unless you experiment with cutting different angles or cutting things shorter.  By shortening the Very Vanilla piece I was able to show more of the paper weaving in the background.  Try your luck at paper weaving.  It was really fun and gave the card a totally different look.

November 2012 Creative Contest-Mitten Builder Punch

The theme for the November 2012 Creative Contest held my my upline, Dawn Olchefske, was the Mitten Builder Punch.  Dawn had given me a birthday card in October 2012 using the Shadow Box Technique.  Dawn has a GREAT tutorial on her blog showing how to create this Shadow Box card.  I took it a little further and added a battery operated tea light candle and put it in between the layers of the card.
Here is a close-up of the Mitten Builder Punch card.  I put Dazzling Diamonds on the embossed snowflakes.  Using the little tea light, made the glitter almost pop off the card.  I love how this card turned out and am trying to think of other ways I can incorporate a tea light candle.
